Harmonious

A Harmonious Charm is actually a cluster of five Charms, with one Charm representing each element. A character who learns a Harmonious Charm always learns the version associated with her Aspect first. Additional purchases of the Charm unlock different elemental effects, which the character can learn in any order she wishes.

Because the character has already internalized the Charm, learning it again becomes easier. The second purchase of a Harmonious Charm costs only 6XP (or 5XP if it comes from an Aspect or Favored Ability). After the second, each additional purchase of the Charm receives a further 1XP discount.

Intrinsic

A Dragon-Blooded character possesses a single Intrinsic Ability in addition to her Aspect and Favored Abilities. She learns the Intrinsic Charms of that Ability as soon as she meets the prerequisites for them with no need for training time or teachers. At character creation, these Charms do not count against her starting Charms. After character creation they do not cost experience points.

Compulsion

This Charm generates unnatural mental influence.

Cooperative

Multiple Dragon-Blooded can use this Charm in tandem to increase its effects.

Counterattack

This Charm launches a counterattack. Many counterattacks have a special trigger or circumstances under which they can be launched. Counterattacks cannot be launched in response to counterattacks.

Crippling

This Charm has an additional Crippling effect. Although Crippling effects typically represent terrible, essence-inflicted injuries, the Crippling Keyword is also used to qualify strange or esoteric effects that don't fit anywhere else. For example, a strike that drains Willpower is a Crippling effect.

Dynasty

This Charm can only target a blood relative, or has additional effects when it targets a blood relative.

Elemental

This Charm has a cosmetic or secondary elemental effect.

Emotion

This Charm generates unnatural mental influence that creates an emotion.

Enlightening

This Charm expands the mind of a character who uses it, granting them access to greater powers.

Form-type

This is a Form-type Charm. Characters may only have one Form-type Charm active at a time. Invoking a second Form-type Charm ends the first one.

Hero

This Charm has additional effects when learned by a specific type of Exalt.

Holy

This Charm has additional effects against Creatures of Darkness.

Illusion

This Charm generates unnatural mental influence that alters perceptions and beliefs.

Knockback

This Charm inflicts knockback or knockdown.

Martyr

A dead or dying Dragon-Blooded can use this Charm at no cost, sometimes to greater or longer-lasting effect.

Obvious

This Charm is obvious to one or more of an observers senses.

Poison

This Charm produces a toxin or its effects can be treated as one.

Purity

This Charm requires a Dragon-Blooded to have the Breeding background at the listed rating or gains additional effects based on Breeding.

Shaping

This Charm generates a direct alteration of reality.

Sickness

This charm produces a disease or disease-like effect.

Stackable

Multiple invocations or purchases of this Charm are cumulative.

Touch

This Charm requires physical contact to function.

Training

This Charm cannot be learned unless the character can find a tutor.

Velocity

This Charm ends on any turn in which the character does not move her full movement rate.

Vocal

This Charm requires the character to speak, sing, or play an instrument. Vocal Charms are are typically Obvious as well.
